Theatre of resonant objects - Hans w. Koch (DE)
Each object and each space have their own characteristic resonances. based on ideas from David Tudors „Rainforest IV“, we will explore the sonic properties of obects and spaces by exciting them with electronic sounds and picking up their responses with piezo contact microphones. The goal is to build a performed installation, in which objects and spaces become filters and create a labyrinth of multiple acoustic perspective.

About the host:
Since 1995 Hans W. Koch is active as an artist of experimental sonic practice for composition, performance and installation and has received numerous commissions from festivals and institutions around the globe. In 2008 his piece „The benchmark consort“ won an award of Distinction at prix Ars Electronica and in 2016 he was appointed as professor of sound at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.
